Our Explorer unit takes part in lots of activities. We would like to share a few of them with you.

This was the last working Party of the summer and boy was it a hot one. We arrived early at Hamlet Wood as ever and got a briefing form the warden on what we were to do that day. It was mainly clearing footpaths on the nature trail from over grown trees, shrubs and the dreaded stingers. With an enthusiastic team we managed to get the paths cleared a lot quicker than anticipated. This meant that we could move onto a new job to most of the explorers. Paul J showed the explorers how to split long logs in half using mallets and wedges. Once they had split a large number of logs we then used them to reinforce the plant storage area which is a raised area next to the wardens store. Hot work but very enjoyable. ...
